IN PERSON – Accreditation of Food Safety Certification (ISO 22003 Parts 1 and 2)

This training course will take place on 8-10 March 2023 and is for APAC Member personnel and APAC Evaluators. The training course is kindly hosted by the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS), Thailand.

The event is about the use of ISO 22003-1:2022 Food safety – Part 1: Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of food safety management systems to accredit food safety certification bodies. Certification bodies provide food safety certification to their clients on the basis of ISO 22000:2018 Food safety management systems — Requirements for any organization in the food chain and food safety scheme requirements. The course also covers the requirements of ISO 22003-2:2022 Food safety – Part 2: Requirements for bodies providing evaluation and certification of products, processes and services, including an audit of the food safety system which can be used by scheme owners in developing scheme requirements based on ISO/IEC 17065:2012.

The course will also cover relevant IAF requirements, including IAF MD 2:2017, IAF MD 4:2022, IAF MD 11:2013, and IAF MD 16:2015; and relevant references to the Accreditation Assessment Practices Group (AAPG) and ISO 22000 Auditing Practice Group (APG) AG 4.

The facilitators will provide insights on how this type of accreditation is conducted and participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and ask questions. Attendees are expected to be APAC Member personnel (assessors, managers, accreditation scheme developers) that are either undertaking accreditation of food safety certification, or are considering developing this type of accreditation scheme. It is expected many of the attendees will already be familiar with accreditation of management system and/or product certification.

Due to the expected high interest in this training event, until further notice only one (1) person from each APAC Member will be accepted to attend this event. Depending on the numbers registered closer to the date of the event, a second registration round may be made available. It is expected the attendees that undertake this training will share the knowledge gained and the training materials internally with other accreditation body personnel when they return from Bangkok.

There is no event registration fee and a lunch will be provided free of charge on the days of the event. However, all travel, accommodation, other meals, per diems, visa fees, travel and health insurance costs, etc. must be paid directly by the attendees or by their accreditation bodies. APAC does not provide funding for attendees at this event. On the registration website a specific hotel booking form with a discounted room rate (including free Wi-Fi and breakfast) will be made available to registrants.

Registrants will need to upload evidence that an APAC Member in their economy has approved their participation in this APAC event.
